The CHICK in charge

Chick in charge
When I graduated from Lebanon Valley College back in December of '92, I was looking ahead to a few months of substitute teaching until I could find a job of my own. I began my substitute career the following January at LDSD, and continued throughout the remainder of the year. I was elated when I was hired to be the Kindergarten teacher at Conewago for the 1993-94 school year.

I taught for over a decade at Conewago Elementary, but then I made the choice to join the Nye family and see no end in sight.

I'm a spontaneous kind of CHICK who loves to get -up- and -go, but also can appreciate the value of time at home with family and friends. I am happiest in my kitchen cooking up a storm, and love to write in my journal. I love Rockabilly music, Neato Burrito, Roller Derby, Hello Kitty, and Consignment stores. I love my students like my own kids, and pride myself on treating them just as I would want my own boys treated. I approach my teaching with a hands-on, risk-free philosophy. Although I demand a lot of my students, I find that they, more often than not, meet my expectations. I am a stickler for honesty, and adamant that you be able to laugh at yourself when things go wrong, as well as admit your own mistakes.

I do hope that this gives you some insight on me, and I invite you to contact me with any questions or comments. I also would love the opportunity to learn more about you...feel free to bring in your photo albums and "introduce" yourself to me!
